First off, I know how it sounds and I just want to add I do pray all the time hoping I don’t go to hell over this little escapade of mine.
So it all started when I was 14 years old. I ran away from home and lived on the beach for almost a week with one of my home town friends. We lived in Hawaii so worrying about getting kidnapped wasnt a big concern of mine.
For the first few days it was all fun and games going fishing, making our own fires, and cooking the delicious fish we proudly caught. However, someone can only eat some much fish and Opihi (Hawaiian Limpit) before losing their sanity.
It was at the point when my friend who had lived in the local area told me about this small church down the road that fed homeless people and kept food in the pantry. After arguing on if this was a good idea we ultimately decided to go forward with it.
When we got to the church we felt around on all the windows to find that one was left unlocked. If your from Hawaii you know locking doors and windows is a foreign concept. After finally making it into the church and finding the food we thought we would have all the time in the world to decide what foods we would feast on. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE.
As soon as we found the food one of the church ladies decided to pull up and bless us with her presents. Long story short, we made out with a can of corn. I robbed a church and will probably go to hell over a can of corn but, you know what it was golden kernel corn so it was worth it!
